Monza Transfer Market: The Brianza-based club is asking Como for a goalkeeper

One of the issues Monza hopes to resolve in the final days of the transfer window concerns the goalkeeper position. Semuel Pizzignacco’s performance at the Meazza was not convincing, even if the criticism he received on social media seemed decidedly excessive. Some doubts also remain about Demba Thiam, one of the key players in the team’s promotion.

The possibility of signing Pietro Terracciano, currently with Milan, remains little more than an idea for the time being, while the Brianza-based club is moving more decisively to sign Noel Törnqvist. The Swedish goalkeeper, born in 2002, was signed by Como in 2025 and then loaned to Mjällby until the end of the year, helping the team win the league title. Como is now considering another temporary transfer, and Monza has entered the race in earnest.

One of Törnqvist’s distinctive features is the protective helmet he has worn since the age of 16. The decision stems from an incident in which the goalkeeper hit his head against a goalpost without suffering any serious injuries. Since then, he has decided to wear it, inspired by his idol Petr Šech and, at the same time, to put his mother’s mind at ease.

Still in Sweden, the Jacob Zetterström option, however, seems to have cooled off significantly. The Derby County goalkeeper, born in 1998, who was recently seen in action between the posts for the Scandinavian national team at the World Cup, now appears to be a much more difficult target to secure.
