Pfeiffer Georgi changes teams and begins a new chapter
Pfeiffer Georgi is switching teams and starting a new chapter in her career. The 25-year-old British rider has signed a three-year contract with UAE Team L’IMAD and will wear the team’s new colors starting in the 2027 season. This marks a major turning point for the cyclist, as she had always raced for the same team during her first eight seasons as a professional.
Georgi brings an impressive track record with her, particularly in one-day races. A three-time British champion, she has secured a podium finish at Paris-Roubaix Femmes and claimed victory at Brugge-De Panne—results that confirm her prowess in the toughest Classics. Cobblestones, short, explosive climbs, and challenging weather conditions are, in fact, the terrain where she performs at her best.
The move to UAE Team L’IMAD also stems from a desire to find new challenges after a long period in the same environment. “I’ve been with the same team for all eight years of my professional career, and I’m excited to join a new environment at this stage of my career,” Georgi explained. “I’ve gained a lot of experience, and now I want to continue growing as an athlete.”
The British rider has closely followed the evolution of her new team and believes she has found the ideal environment to take another leap forward in her performance. “I’ve seen the team’s development over the past few years and the many successes they’ve achieved. I wanted to be somewhere where I could reach my full potential, and I believe UAE Team L’IMAD is the right place.”
Cycling has been a part of Georgi’s life practically since she was born. Raised in a family with a strong cycling tradition, she began riding at age four at the London velodrome, following in the footsteps of her father, who was also a racer. Over the years, she has developed a particular passion for the Classics, so much so that she cites Paris–Roubaix as her favorite race.
“I love the Classics. I think their characteristics—with short, demanding climbs, cobblestones, and bad weather—suit my strengths well. I have a real passion for one-day races, and my favorite is Paris-Roubaix.”
The spring Classics will be the first major goal of her adventure with UAE Team L’IMAD. First, however, Georgi wants to settle in and build a good relationship with her new teammates: “I’m really excited to get to know all the girls, and initially I want to focus on fitting into the team. My main goals in the first part of the season will be the Spring Classics.”
The project, however, isn’t limited to one-day races. In the coming years, the British rider wants to become an even more well-rounded cyclist, focusing especially on improving her climbing skills. This improvement could allow her to be competitive in different contexts and in longer stage races.
“I want to continue improving on climbs to have more opportunities in races and achieve better results in longer stage races.” For Georgi, therefore, the move to UAE Team L’IMAD represents not just a change of jersey, but the start of a three-year project aimed at returning to the forefront at the highest levels.
