Nico Gonzalez’s initial performances have been positive. Coming off the bench against Parma, the Argentine made a positive impact on the game, helping to shift the momentum of the match at Allianz Stadium. His performance confirmed Luciano Spalletti’s belief that he can fully bring the former Fiorentina player back into the fold and carve out an important role for him in Juventus’s attack.

His post-match comments also revealed a more relaxed Gonzalez: “I missed playing in this jersey, which is why I’m happy and can go home satisfied.” This was a significant sign after a summer during which the player had made no secret of his desire to return to Atlético Madrid.

Juventus was aware of the Argentine’s intentions; he had remained on excellent terms with Diego Simeone. Despite this, Nico maintained a professional attitude throughout preseason training, earning public praise from Spalletti. The coach explained to him from the very beginning the role he could play in his plans, and the player responded with a willingness to contribute even during training sessions.

The return to Atlético, however, did not materialize. The Spanish club did not meet the 30 million euros demanded by Juventus, and Gonzalez gradually shifted his focus to the possibility of relaunching his career in Turin.

The Bianconeri’s stance has not changed in the final hours of the transfer window. Carnevali and Massara would only consider a sale if an offer of around 30 million were made for a permanent transfer. Without an offer of this magnitude, Gonzalez will remain at Continassa.
