Milan Transfer Market: Time for Contract Extensions—Priority Given to Two Players Whose Contracts Expire in 2028

With the transfer window having closed without any major moves in the final hours, it’s already time for Milan to look to the future. The Rossoneri have identified two particularly important contract extensions: those of Adrien Rabiot and Strahinja Pavlovic, considered two pillars of Amorim’s squad. Both players’ contracts expire in 2028, with an option to extend their deals for an additional season. Milan, however, does not want to wait until the last minute and will try to put new agreements in writing in the coming weeks to secure the two players.

For Rabiot, in particular, an important meeting is being planned. Gerry Cardinale is expected to meet personally with the midfielder’s mother and agent, with the goal of taking stock of the situation and laying the groundwork for an extension. The ownership group’s plan is to extend the contract at least until 2030, accompanying the renewal with a salary increase. The Frenchman’s salary could thus reach 5 million euros per season, a figure that would place him among the highest-paid players on the entire Rossoneri roster. This is significant recognition for a player whom Milan considers central to its technical project.

Then there’s Pavlovic, who has already been on the radar of several foreign clubs during recent transfer windows. In this case as well, talks with the Serbian defender’s representatives have continued, and negotiations appear to have reached an advanced stage. For the center back, the goal is even more ambitious: in fact, a new contract running through 2031 is on the table. Milan therefore wants to preempt any potential offers from abroad and secure one of the cornerstones of its defense for the long term.

So, following the incoming and outgoing transfers, Casa Milan is already looking beyond the transfer window. The priority now is to lock down Rabiot and Pavlovic, two players considered essential for the present and, above all, for the future of the Rossoneri project.
