Real Villasanta Takes Center Stage at the Sports Festival: The Booth Was Overwhelmed with Visitors

Real Villasanta certainly couldn’t miss the Festa dello Sport held in this charming little town in Brianza: for its fifteenth edition, the event changed locations, moving from Piazza del Comune to Piazza Europa.

Manning the green-and-white club’s booth were two executives, Mario Ronchi and Tana—the latter also known as Stefano Fontana—along with a few die-hard fans such as Carlo Rolla, “l’Ing.” (aka Enrico Crippa), and Jalisse, who promised to be a more regular presence in the stands than last season.

The stand received numerous visits from fans, casual onlookers, and former stars, some of whom shamelessly tried to get re-registered, claiming they could still be useful to the cause. These attempts came to nothing due to both age-related and purely technical issues: It was of little use to try dribbling the ball—risking, among other things, running over the karate kids, who, incidentally, might have retaliated with a couple of well-aimed blows—and members of Robur et Virtus, the historic gymnastics club.

The athletes and the long-time head coach Massimo Ciccio Levati were excused from the session, as they are currently at a training camp in Barzio, in the province of Lecco, in preparation for a season that promises to be packed with competitive (and non-competitive) events, starting with the Super Cup scheduled for late September against the Tribe.
