Guerschon Yabusele alleges: “I was spat on in the face at the end of the game”

Guerschon Yabusele accused some Partizan fans of crossing the line after Panathinaikos’s 72-55 victory in Belgrade. The French forward explained that he enjoys hostile atmospheres, but reported being pelted with objects and spat on by fans as he left the court.

“I never shy away from these kinds of atmospheres. When you’re a competitive basketball player, being in an arena with 15,000 people against you is something you appreciate,” Yabusele told Sportal.gr after Panathinaikos improved its EuroLeague record to 5-0.

According to Yabusele’s account, the situation escalated as he was leaving the court: “They started throwing objects at me and spitting in my face. Everyone knows it, but no one does anything.”

Yabusele finished the game with 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 20 minutes of play. His time with Partizan was also marked by a brawl that broke out during the 2023 playoffs, when he was suspended for five games following an altercation involving Dante Exum.
