Max Verstappen, Mika Hakkinen discomfort two F1 legends
Hakkinen extolled the Dutchman.
Former Formula 1 driver and two-time world champion with McLaren, Mika Hakkinen, has spoken out about Max Verstappen, fresh off his second world title, comparing him to two F1 legends such as Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.
“The last race in Abu Dhabi was simply perfect for Max, and underscored the brilliant performance he and Red Bull have produced this season,” the Finn explained in his column on ‘Unibet.
“Someone pointed out to me that in 1988 Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna won 15 out of 16 races for McLaren. The fact that Max can do it by himself is very impressive. He has speed and consistency. The car has been fast all season long, and from the moment it overcame the small reliability problems at the beginning of the season, it has been incredible,” Hakkinen went on to reveal a curiosity about the Dutchman’s seasonal victories.
