Inter and Milan Unveil the New San Siro Stadium; the Official Date Has Been Announced

The countdown has begun. On Thursday, October 29, at 4:30 p.m., Inter and Milan will officially present the rendering of the new San Siro stadium, unveiling for the first time the design of the future facility set to become the home of the two Milanese teams. The event is scheduled to take place at the Castello Sforzesco, in the heart of Milan. The project was entrusted to the architectural firms Foster + Partners and Manica.
After years of discussions, delays, and appeals, the two clubs will finally be able to show fans and the city what the new stadium will look like. The facility will have an estimated capacity of approximately 71,500 seats, including over 13,000 premium seats. The total value of the project is estimated at 2.149 billion euros.
The presentation of the rendering marks an important step toward the construction of the new stadium. According to the timeline provided by the clubs, construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027, once the necessary administrative and permitting procedures have been completed.
The goal is to complete the new stadium by 2031, in time for the 2032 UEFA European Championship, co-hosted by Italy and Turkey. The project calls for the construction of the new stadium on the site currently occupied by parking lots, next to the Meazza Stadium, which will continue to host Inter and Milan matches during part of the construction period. The partial demolition of the existing stadium is planned for a later phase.
October 29 will therefore mark the first concrete occasion when the project takes shape in front of the public. For Milan, this marks the beginning of a new phase in the transformation of the San Siro area, with the challenge of meeting the deadlines required to submit the future stadium as a candidate to host matches for the 2032 European Championship.
