Hellas Verona coach Marco Baroni, ahead of the Hellas Verona vs. Pisa match—scheduled for the eighth matchday of Serie B on Sunday, October 25, at 5:15 p.m. at the Bentegodi Stadium—spurred on his team during a press conference two days before the game. “Pisa has improved, but we knew they were a solid team. They had some difficulties at the start, but now they’re proving their worth.” In the standings: Pisa 10 points, Verona 8 points.

Baroni laid out his directive to his players as follows: “We have to give a little more, because what we’ve done so far isn’t enough, even though the team is gradually finding its identity. We need to stay focused so that the momentum swings in our favor, rather than working against us as it did in the draw against Catanzaro.”

Bittersweet news from the infirmary. “This week, Dawidowicz suffered adductor strain and sat out for a couple of days as a precaution. Suslov also had a minor issue, but he’s back in training. Frese is improving, while Ekuban has completed a full week of training—he’s ready, even if he doesn’t yet have 90 minutes in his legs. Bradaric and Serdar are continuing their recovery; they’ll need a few more weeks.”

Verona has one of the defenses that has conceded the most goals, despite allowing relatively few shots on goal. “I’m not a coach who likes to talk about coincidences. We need to prevent this from becoming an obsession and keep working as we are, with even greater focus. In the last three games, we’ve made some avoidable mistakes. For me, it’s crucial that the team doesn’t lose confidence. There are players who are making significant progress, and we need to keep focusing on what’s working while paying close attention to what needs to be corrected.”
