An all-Red-and-Blue showdown at the Unipol Domus, where at 3 p.m. on Saturday, referee Kevin Bonacina of the Bergamo Referees’ Association will blow the whistle to kick off the Cagliari vs. Bologna match, a match counting toward Matchday 8 of the 2026–2027 Serie A season. The match will be broadcast live on DAZN via any device with the broadcaster’s app.

Cagliari, which had a memorable start to the season, came back down to earth last Monday with a 4-0 loss on the road against Monza. Against Bologna, Fabio Pisacane won’t face any major lineup issues (Felici, Idrissi, and Trepy have been out for some time; everyone else is fit and available). To put the Brianteo drubbing behind them, however, Paul Mendy and Daniel Maldini need to find the back of the net again: the former hasn’t scored since September 12, while the latter failed to score on Monday and was substituted in the 67th minute for the Spaniard Kevin.

Bologna is still searching for its footing after a poor start to the season and the coaching change that brought Raffaele Palladino in to lead the team in place of Domenico Tedesco. After their first (and so far only) win of the season on the road against Lecce, the Rossoblù were defeated by Inter at home and now sit in 15th place in the standings, well out of contention for the top spots. Piccoli’s injury has compounded those of Holm and Orsolini: Odgaard will lead the attack, with Cambiaghi and Bernardeschi providing support.

Probable Lineups

CAGLIARI (4-3-2-1): Caprile; Pedro, Mina, Rodriguez, Obert; Adopo, Winks, Romano; Deiola, Maldini; Mendy. Coach: Pisacane.

BOLOGNA (3-4-2-1): Skorupski; Darmian, Casale, Theate; Zortea, Ferguson, Pobega, Miranda; Bernardeschi, Cambiaghi; Odgaard. Coach: Palladino.
