Juventus has issued its first response following the crushing, one-sided defeat suffered at Marassi against Genoa. On Thursday morning, CEO Giovanni Carnevali arrived at Continassa for a tough meeting with the team and head coach Luciano Spalletti.

The Turin club’s leadership wants a shake-up, but according to reports in *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, the Tuscan coach remains in charge for now. However, the club’s confidence in him is no longer as strong as it has been in recent weeks. On social media, fans have already written him off; the hashtag #Spallettiout is trending, and many are calling for the arrival of Antonio Conte.

Spalletti requested and secured a training camp for the team, which will be in isolation at Continassa from Friday through Sunday’s match against Napoli to prepare for the game against the Azzurri—a match considered crucial for the rest of the season. Carnevali is said to have asked the players to step up not only in their performances but also in their attitude. A loss to Napoli could lead to unpredictable consequences.

The 2-0 defeat at Marassi, which took place on Matchday 9, was the Bianconeri’s third loss of the season and was decided in a first half best forgotten. Ehizibue opened the scoring in the 12th minute thanks to a deflection off Cambiaso, then Baldanzi doubled the lead in the 28th minute by capitalizing on a serious mistake by Kalulu. In the second half, Spalletti brought on Woltemade and Zhegrova, but Juventus was unable to get back into the game despite attempts by Boga, Kolo Muani, Bremer, and Koopmeiners, who hit the crossbar. In the standings, the Bianconeri are eighth with 14 points, 11 points behind Inter and Lazio, and have been caught by Massimiliano Allegri’s Napoli, who won 4-1 at Monza. On Sunday evening at Allianz Stadium, Allegri—a former star of this rivalry—will be suspended.
