Milan will be without Samuel Chukwueze for an extended period: the Rossoneri winger underwent surgery in London to repair a torn tensor fasciae latae tendon in his left hip.

The Rossoneri club announced that the surgery, performed by Prof. Ernest Schilders in the presence of Dr. Stefano Mazzoni, was a complete success. The Nigerian winger has already returned to Italy, where he will begin his rehabilitation.

The player is expected to be sidelined for about three months. He should return toward the end of January and will miss at least ten league matches, as well as cup games.

The problem with his left hip first arose in mid-October. On October 22, Chukwueze did not travel with the team for the Europa League away match against Bournemouth. The player underwent a targeted injection to relieve the pain, with a clinical reevaluation scheduled within ten to fifteen days. Ultimately, surgery was necessary.

His absence adds to the Rossoneri’s already significant list of injuries. Alexis Saelemaekers, who underwent ankle surgery on October 13, will remain sidelined until at least mid-March. Matteo Gabbia, dealing with a muscle injury, won’t be able to return before February. At the same time Chukwueze was sidelined, Gonçalo Ramos was also ruled out due to discomfort in his left calf.
