Valentino Rossi also promoted as coach: “No one better than him”
VR46 team manager Pablo Nieto on “patron” Valentino Rossi: “When he comes to the track he helps the drivers so much in preparing for the races.”
VR46 Racing Team manager Pablo Nieto in an interview with Motosprint stressed the importance of Valentino Rossi also as a coach: “He is very important, no one can boast of having a rider like him in the team. Also he only stopped racing last year so he has everything very ‘fresh’, he can help riders in preparing for races or for example in interpreting riding, there is no one better than him in this sense. Every time he has come to the track he has been great, hopefully next year he can come to as many races as possible.”
Nieto took stock of Marco Bezzecchi’s and Luca Marini’s seasons, “Even in Moto2 we had taken Marco, who was already a rider who had won races in Moto3 and played for the world championship, and already in his first year he was fighting to win the title, until the race in Aragon where he crashed while he was first. The fact that in his first year in Moto2 he made these performances is significant that he has incredible talent. And in MotoGP the same thing happened a little bit. Marco you don’t know how far he can go.”
“Luca had a great championship, too bad he only missed the podium. In the Valencia tests he was first and I’m really pleased with the work he did and I’m sure the podium will come, maybe already in the first races of next season.”
