Tour de France, success for Pedersen: Vingegaard still in yellow
Vingegaard still in yellow jersey
In the 13th stage of the Tour de France 2022, victory came for Mads Pedersen. It was a perfect day for the Danish Trek-Segafredo rider, who started in the breakaway and ruled the tight group at the finish in Saint Etienne.
The stage that started in Le Bourg d’Oisans thus ended with Pedersen’s success ahead of Fred Wright and Hugo Houle. Also in the breakaway group was Filippo Ganna (Ineos-Grenadiers), who finished the stage in sixth place. There was no shakeup in the overall standings with the yellow jersey group finishing 5’45” from the leaders, ruled at the finish by green jersey Wout Van Aert.
Thus the general classification remains unchanged with Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) still in yellow with a 2’22” lead over defending Tour champion Tadej Pogacar. Then Geraint Thomas at 2’26” and Romain Bardet at 2’35”. Tomorrow an eventful 14th stage starting in Saint Etienne and finishing uphill in Mende.
