Rodrygo gives another cup to Carlo Ancelotti
Real Madrid wins the King’s Cup
Carlo Ancelotti adds another trophy to his immense trophy case: on Saturday evening, in fact, his Real Madrid defeated Osasuna 2-1 in the King’s Cup final played at the Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville.
The Brazilian Rodrygo was decisive for the Blancos’ success: the class of 2001 first put his team ahead after not even 2 minutes of play, taking full advantage of Vinicius Junior’s assist; then, after Torrò’s equalizer in the 58th minute (a winning right-footed shot from the distance), he scored the winning goal in the 70th minute, after a back-and-forth play caused by an erroneous sending-off by David Garcia.
For Real it is the 20th success in the domestic cup: the previous one was also the first (and until this morning the only one) won by Ancelotti on the Blancos’ bench, in the 2013/14 season. The coach from Reggiolo has also won the Cup in Italy (Milan 2003) and England (Chelsea, FA Cup 2010)
