Formula 1 is dangerously infecting other motorsport categories: even in Superbike, in Misano, due to a crash by Danilo Petrucci and Iker Lecuona the Superpole Race was interrupted with three laps to go. Reigning world champion Spaniard Alvaro Bautista of Ducati was leading at the time, and he was strongly challenged by Yamaha’s Turkish Toprak Razgatlioglu, who was justifiably angry about the interruption. Third place went to Bautista’s teammate Michael Ruben Riinaldi.
