MotoGp, KTM boss is lapidary on Marc Marquez hypothesis
Pit Beirer pushes away the Marc Marquez hypothesis.
Marc Marquez will not be a KTM rider, despite rumors that had linked the multiple world champion to the Austrian manufacturer. This was confirmed by Pit Beirer, Motorsports Director of KTM, in an interview with ‘Marca’.
“Marquez approached by KTM? No, it’s not true,” he said, lapidary. “It has been said in other contexts as well that we are not interested because, first of all, Marc Márquez has an agreement in place with Honda and we have four riders under contract for this year and next year. It’s not even a realistic scenario that we can discuss.”
For Beirer, it is also too early to think further ahead, perhaps to 2025: “In that case we have to ask Marc directly, I can see, however, that everyone in the paddock would be open to talking to us.”
