Ducati is dominating the world championship to the tune of victories

Ducati, right now, is dominating the World Championship. Bagnaia is leading in MotoGP and, even in the other categories, the Borgo Panigale team is leaving nothing but crumbs to its rivals. Some people think Ducati’s dominance is bad for the show.

Ciabatti, Ducati’s sporting director, is clear about what MotoGP should look like in terms of numbers: “In an ideal championship design, I would like six manufacturers, each and field four bikes. Unfortunately, there are five manufacturers today, and in a free market logic, independent teams have the right to source where they are best. The Ducati package is technically interesting, as it is competitive and directly assisted by our engineers. The prices are reasonable: eight Desmosedicis out of twenty-two fixed presences suggest excellent strategies for product development and sales of the same,” his words to Corriere dello Sport.

In short, welcome alternatives and more manufacturers on the track but, at the moment, it is Ducati that is ruling the roost.
