Roma, Jose Mourinho pays dearly for words about referee Chiffi
The decision of the National Court of the FIGC
Disqualification and fine for Jose Mourinho, fine also for Roma: this is the ruling of the National Tribunal of the Figc, communicated Wednesday by the competent bodies, referring to the events of Monza-Roma last May 3, in particular to the Portuguese coach’s statements against the referee of the match at the ‘Brianteo’, Daniele Chiffi.
This is what the note released by the Federcalcio reads: “The National Federal Tribunal – Disciplinary Section, definitively pronouncing, imposes the following sanctions: for Mr. Jose Mario Dos Santos Mourinho, a 50,000.00 (fifty thousand/00) euro fine and 10 (ten) days of disqualification to be served starting from the first day of the next relevant Championship; for the company AS Roma Srl, a 50,000.00 (fifty thousand/00) euro fine.”
The decision comes just days after another hefty ‘package’ of measures against the Giallorossi club and Mourinho himself, for which the Special One will miss four Europa League matches and the club will pay a hefty fine for what happened in the semi-final first leg and final of the last edition of the second European competition.
