Tour de France 2023: Adam Yates beats brother Simon in sprint to win first yellow jersey
UAE Team Emirates’ Briton Adam Yates won the first stage of the Tour de France 2023 by finishing ahead of everyone in, 4h 22′ 33″, the 182 km with start and finish in Bilbao: beating his brother Simon ( Team Jayco AlUla) and Slovenia’s Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) in a sprint.
Rounding out the top 10 are Thibaut Pinot (Groupama), Michael Israel Woods (Premier Tech), Victor Cofidis Lafay, Jai Hindley (Bora-Hansgrohe), Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Terk), Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) and David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ).
The second stage will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, with a 208-kilometer route starting in Vitoria-Gasteiz and finishing in Saint-Sébastien.
