F1, George Russell does not hide his disappointment
The former Williams does not hide his disappointment after finishing 18th in qualifying in the Hungarian GP
After finishing 18th in qualifying in the Hungarian GP, the Mercedes driver did not hide his disappointment with the result on the microphones of “Sky Sport F1”. “It’s a difficult result to digest. We put ourselves in a difficult position in qualifying and lost a lot of time. The car was going great and there was the potential to get a good result. I would like to congratulate Lewis and the team on the pole we got,” the British driver began.
“We were fast, but for the whole session we were not in sync with everyone. I was overtaken by four cars at the last corner and that lost me valuable time. I was down three tenths before I even got to the first corner,” added the former Williams.
“The tires were nowhere to be found, it was completely normal for us to go slower. I’m really disappointed because we shouldn’t have taken so many risks. The car was fast enough to get through Q2 and Q3. It was rare for us to make these kinds of mistakes, and if you don’t do things right you get what you deserve,” George Russell commented.
