Marc Marquez, new advice from Zarco: “He needs more calm”
Before returning, comes the advice of a colleague.
Marc Marquez at Silverstone will be there, and Honda’s Catalan said he feels ready to return to the track after the many problems that have followed in recent MotoGP seasons. In the run-up to the British Grand Prix, therefore, a colleague who had already sent him several long-distance messages in the past decided to return to talk about him: Johann Zarco.
The Ducati Pramac rider granted an interview to Manuel Pecino of ‘Motosprint,’ also focusing on Marc Marquez and his return to action. “He has such a palmarès that he doesn’t have to prove to anyone that he is faster or stronger than the others,” said Zarco. “On the contrary, in my opinion he still retains the skills to be faster than everyone. But with the Honda these days, he could use a little more calm and a little more control.”
“He has to accept the fact that, at the moment, it is not possible for him to fight for victory. But that’s just the situation because the bike right now doesn’t allow him to do that. He needs a little more wisdom so that he doesn’t risk getting hurt and hope that things will improve in the future,” is the advice Zarco decided to give Marquez.
Zarco himself has made mistakes in the past, even big ones, and he admitted it: “As I get older, the craziness drops and self-control increases. Now I really like to be in control of the situation and the bike. When it’s not, equally I don’t want to risk more than necessary. Testing material for Ducati, then, is an advantage for me because of the experience I have gained. I see it as an opportunity, since I am not as young as Jorge Martin, who compared to me has a much better chance of one day becoming world champion.”
