Milan, Samuel Chukwueze dreams big
Milan’s new striker Samuel Chukwueze speaks at a press conference in Milanello in the aftermath of his Rossoneri debut in the final Silvio Berlusconi Trophy match against Monza, where he was introduced on the pitch to his new fans.
“I am here to win now and write my name in the history of the club,” said the 24-year-old Nigerian. “Scudetto, Champions League, Coppa Italia: we can beat them all, I did not come to watch or to earn, this is a unique opportunity and I want to take advantage of it by working hard. I don’t think about the past, I only think about writing my name in Milan’s history.”
“The fans were tagging me on Instagram even before I arrived, I felt loved right away,” added Chukwueze. “And I told my agent: let’s close this operation because I already love Milan. Pioli called me when I was with the national team using a brilliant tactic, he told me why he needed me and I became attached to the project. Osimhen? Victor is my best friend, we have known each other since we were 17 years old, he spoke very well to me about Pioli and Milan.”
Chukwueze comes from Villarreal, in which he grew up and where he played five seasons in La Liga, totaling between all competitions 207 appearances and 37 goals. Milan bought him for 20 million euros plus 8 million in bonuses and the player signed a five-year contract, thus tying himself to the Rossoneri until 2028.
