Us Open, Jannik Sinner out of teeth on derby with Lorenzo Sonego
Jannik Sinner è categorical about the derby with Lorenzo Sonego: "Those are the matches you have to win in a tournament like this"
After his victory in the opener against Hanfmann, Jannik Sinner, during the post-match press conference, dwelt on the derby that awaits him in the second round against Lorenzo Sonego, who bent the American De Alboran in the first round.
"I am happy to play against him, è a very good tennis player who is improving his tennis a lot. The forehand pushes, while the backhand è evolved. It will be a tough match, but these are the matches I have to play to win a tournament like this. Neither of us will think we are Italian, certainly there will be a little more tension, but let's see how it goes" debuted the South Tyrolean.
"I really like playing on this court, but it è not easy becauseé the audience here talks a lot and makes a lot of noise. Keeping concentration up is not è easy, but the'atmosphere è special here" added the blue number one.
"Since I changed the service movement I feel quite comfortable in the execution. Everything is becoming quite natural, now I am working on variations. It takes time, but in the week after Cincinnati I focused on that and in the match against Hanfmann I tried to get the ball dirty. The process è long and there is still room for improvement" commented Jannik Sinner about his serve.
