Carlos Sainz and the Audi option: his father explains it all
The farewell to Maranello may indeed materialize.
Carlos Sainz and Ferrari experienced one of the best days since they joined their respective paths on Sunday at the Italian Grand Prix, with the Spaniard first taking the pole position at Monza and then è earning a hard-earned podium finish after battling with the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, as well as teammate Charles Leclerc in the final laps. Yet the rumors about his possible landing in Audi are not dying down at all.
On the contrary, it was his father himself who fueled them again. Indeed, Carlos Sainz senior spoke to 'PlanetF1', not denying that his son’s negotiations with Audi could materialize in the near future. "Of course contacts have been there. Right now, forò, nothing serious", said the rally champion.
"We are living in a moment where the only thing to do è wait to see what will happenà. In Audi they have started to move, they are already working hard to get ready for 2026 and their debut season. They are ambitious, and they aim to get strong as soon as possible. That is why they will be very decisive when they face choices", concluded the father of Ferrari’s Sainz. Whose future in Maranello è therefore all to be defined.
