Dan Peterson upset by death of Franco Casalini
Dan Peterson’s words
The news of Franco Casalini’s death shocked the entire basketball world but especially Dan Peterson.
The legendary Olimpia Milano coach entrusted the pages of La Repubblica with a moving remembrance of the man who was his right-hand man from 1978 to 1987.
“The best deputy I could have. He had his ideas, he argued, he told me everything to my face but then, when I decided what to do, he always showed me great loyalty. They used to say that he organized our workouts in the gym, and it was true. He did it with great energy, with precision, with ideas. He was a basketball genius, a great Olympia man, and I send him a hug, wherever he is now.”
