Champions League, Inter: Simone Inzaghi goes down flat
Simone Inzaghi is not hiding
Against Real Sociedad, Inter picked up a 1-1 draw that may prove useful in the economy of the round, especially if one looks at the course of the match that saw the Nerazzurri emerge only in the final, after a first half of suffering and a difficult start to the second half anyway.
"The team suffered like we haven’t seen in a long time,” said Simone Inzaghi, without mincing words, in the post-match press conference.
We were good at hanging on to the score against a worthy opponent. We knew it was not going to be easy but we did not have the usual approach: we took an avoidable goal, Sommer had to put in some effort to avoid the worst".
"Winning? Maybe after Lautaro’s goal I even believed – added the Piacenza coach -. Probably, however, it would have been too much, because overall Real Sociedad played better than we did over the 90 minutes".
Some criticism è came for the post-derby turnover: "I think we cannot stop to talk about individuals, the whole of Inter had to do better, including me – said Inzaghi. However, we have to congratulate the opponent, Real Sociedad è a very good team".
