Haller drama, the toughest battle begins
Borussia Dortmund’s statement leaves no room for interpretation
The fears of the past few days have been confirmed by the results of histological examinations carried out on Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastian Haller: in fact, the yellow-and-white club has confirmed that the player has a malignant testicular tumor, and will have to undergo chemotherapy sessions that will inevitably put his competitive career on hold.
“Sebastien Haller will not be able to wear the Borussia Dortmund jersey for several months,” reads the German club’s note. “Histological results have revealed a malignant testicular tumor. Haller must therefore undergo chemotherapy treatment.”
The statement also includes words of encouragement from Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl: “Sebastien will now receive the best possible treatment. The chances of recovery are very good. We wish him and his family much strength and optimism and our thoughts are with him at this difficult time.”
