Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone seeking redemption in Mont Tremblant
Work on the race track prevented the stars of the women’s World Cup double giant slalom on the unprecedented Mont Tremblant slope in Canada from making the classic ski run on the eve of the race. So’coaches have mapped out an alternative route, in order to finalize the final details of the appointments on Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3 (first run at 5 p.m., second run at 8 p.m., live on Raisport and Eurosport TV), valid as the third and fourth appointments of the season between the wide gates. The lineup follows the one that took part last Saturday in the Killington race, it is Marta Bassino, Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, Roberta Melesi, Laura Pirovano, Elisa Platino, Beatrice Sola and Asja Zenere.
"We did training on the warm-up slope, which unfortunately is not è very steep, but at least we were able to turn the skis a little bit – said Federica Brignone, in the words reported by FISI -. Mont Tremblant è very nice, we have never been in these parts. Physically I feel pretty good, the organizers expect a good presence of public, of course from my part there’è desire for revenge after last week’s race in Killington"
Same desire for redemption for Sofia Goggia: "We are on a new slope for all of them, the slope seems quite easy and we don’t know what kind of snow it is because there’è hasn’t been a way to do the skiing on the slope. With the teammates we stayed a couple of days in Killington to train after last week’s race and we are eager for redemption, because there were no striking results at the team level. We will have to grit our teeth becauseè the heats look quite long".
