Andrea Arnaboldi retires from tennis: “Endlessly grateful to the sport”

One of the blue stars of the racket in recent years says enough.

Andrea Arnaboldi is retiring from tennis. Confirming it è was the same Canturino, now 36, who experienced the peak of his career in 2015. During that season he reached the second round of Roland Garros and always in France he was the protagonist of a historic 6-4, 3-6, 27-25 against Pierre-Hugues Herbert: that match became the longest ever among those played in the best of three sets, as well as the one with the highest number of games.

To say goodbye to his fans and tennis in general, Arnaboldi chose to publish a post on Instagram. "È has been a school of life, infinitely grateful to this sport – reads the post –. An important chapter closes and a new one opens, full of projects and with the desire to pass on all the experience gained".

"I thank all the people who have had the opportunity to share this beautiful journey with me. Loaded and determined towards new goals", concluded Arnaboldi, who ends his tennis career with seven ITF titles in his trophy cabinet, two Challenger finals played and position 156 as the highest peak in the ATP ranking.
