Rafael Nadal, Boris Becker send clear message to competition
During an episode of the podcast "Das Gelbe Vom Ball" on Eurosport, Holger Rune coach Boris Becker è wanted to dwell on Rafael Nadal, who will make his return to the court at the Auckland ATP 250 after a year in the pits due to various physical problems. The former German tennis player spoke bluntly about his expectations for the 2024 season, which could be the last of his career for the Spanish player.
"If he is well I would never bet against Rafael Nadal on a tennis court. He's too strong and experienced a player who has won so much. He's one of the best players of all time. If he thinks he still has a chance to win titles and keep a good level of play, then you have to believe in him" began Holger Rune’s coach.
"There is no doubt from my point of view. I’m sure he won’t go to Australia with high expectations of winning, but he will focus on getting the right feeling back and putting minutes in his legs. His goal must be Roland Garros and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, both of which will be played on clay" added Boris Becker.
