Max Verstappen, goodbye “orange wall” in Netherlands: FIA bans smoke bombs
The "orange wall" can no longer be verified.
Max Verstappen in Holland will certainly be ableà to pick up more historic victories and unleash the celebration of his fans in the stands at Zandvoort. But in the future he will no longer be able to celebrate a success in his homeland in a veritable oranje cloud unleashed by his jubilant compatriots. The habit seen in recent seasons on his "home track" è has in fact become officially illegal: a decision of the FIA.
The International Automobile Federation has in fact decided to update its International Sporting Code, where it has sanctioned that for safety reasons "pyrotechnic products" will no longer be allowed on racetracks. This obviously applies to every Formula 1 Grand Prix, but è it is clear that the mind immediately goes to Zandvoort and the orange smoke bombs that have been greeting Max Verstappen’s sporting exploits for years.
The FIA code itself, in fact, speaks decidedly clearly. Indeed, the material now banned includes all possible "devices containing exothermic substances or exothermic mixtures of substances designed to produce an effect of heat, light, sound, gas or smoke". Those in the Netherlands who want to celebrate Max Verstappen will have to get over it.
