NFL playoffs, Lions’ first win in 32 years
Driven by Goff, Lions win first home playoff match since back in 1991
Spectacle in the NFL playoffs. In the match valid for the NFC Wild Card, Detroit succeeds in the feat of beating the Los Angeles Rams (24-23 the final). A historic success for the Lions, who had not won a home playoff game since as far back as 1991. Absolute protagonist è was Goff, current Lions QB but, in the recent past, player for the Los Angeles Rams.
Goff threw for 227 total yards (22/27), with one TD and zero interceptions. He's becoming the fourth Lions quarterback since 1950 to win a playoff game, joining Layne (three wins), Rote (two) and Kramer (one): "I had to suppress a lot of emotions this week so I could then enjoy the moment. It's been special", his words reported by ESPN.
Green Bay also smiles as it pulls off a real feat, going on to win on the field of Dallas (always NFC Wild Card). The Packers dominated from the first minutes of the game, imposing themselves with a clear 48-32 victory. Entering the playoffs with the worst record, the Packers will now face the San Francisco 49ers, i.e., one of the favorite franchises to win the Super Bowl, scheduled for next Feb. 11.
