World Speed Skating Championships, Davide Ghiotto silver on the 5000
Davide Ghiotto, 30, born in Altavilla Vicentina, won the silver medal in the 5000 meters at the World Speed Skating World Championships on ice on the rink of the 'Calgary Olympic Oval', in Canada.
The gold è went to Dutchman Patrick Roest in 6'07"28, the bronze to Norwegian Sander Eitrem in 6’09”0, while Ghiotto skated in 6’08”61.
Ghiotto had also been a silver medalist at last year's World Championships over the same distance, held on Dutch ice in Heerenveen.
In the 10,000 meters è he was bronze medalist at the Beijing 2022 Olympics and it is over this distance that the Vicenza native è is particularly expected since he is the reigning world champion.
