Dominik Paris, podium is not enough: “We must not make these mistakes”
Dominik Paris analyzes the race closed in third place in Kvitfjell
Sunday è was a positive day for Italian skiing not only at the women’s level, with Federica Brignone and Marta Bassino respectively second and third in the Super-G in Crans-Montana, but also for the men’s speed movement, which recorded Dominik Paris’s third place, tied with Marco Odermatt, in the Kvitfjell super-giant won by Vincent Kriechmayr ahead of Jeffrey Read.
Paris had not been on the podium in Super-G for over a year, more precisely since Jan. 29, 2023, when he finished second in the race held on the Tofane Olympia in Cortina d'Ampezzo. "I am satisfied with the performance,” he told the official Fisi channels. “In Super-G I had been looking for a result for a long time, even though I finished fourth in Wengen".
Despite the satisfaction with the result, Paris still analyzed his performance rather harshly: "My skiing still has to improve – he commented -, of this I am sure: I lost something both at the top and in the final part, you must not make these mistakes if you want to win. I will definitely work on it".
The veteran Italian then smiled again when talking about the third step of the podium shared with the Swiss champion: "Joking with Odermatt,” said Paris, who had achieved the other three podiums of the season in the downhill, “I told him that he might as well have let me do the podium by myself, since he has done soì so many".
