F1, Lewis Hamilton smiles: "Now it looks like a race car"
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton enjoys his first-place finish in Friday’s free practice: "In FP1 it was very windy and the track was very different from testing. We didn’t know exactly what our position would be compared to the others, but FP2 was positive".
The British driver admitted his surprise: "&It’s a shock to see us so high, the car was going strong, but we can’t get ahead of ourselves. We know that there’è;s still a lot to extract and that our pace on the long run is not è able to compete with the Red Bulls. Maybe we can fight on the dry lap, we are close to Ferrari and maybe with Aston Martin and McLaren. If Max will beè in front, I think he will go away as in other years".
“Overall, forò, I feel much more satisfied with the car than last year. We have made good improvements and I feel it much more like a race car. È it’s a very good platform from which to start. We just have to keep our heads down and keep chasing“.
