Marta Bastianelli spoke during the presentation of the 2024 pink jersey of the women’s Giro d'Italia: "I have raced fifteen laps of Italy and I believe that there is no more beautiful race that can represent our sport and I am not saying this only as an Italian. Even foreigners competed to come and race with us, also becauseé we eat well".

"I have traveled the world but actuallyà I have seen very little, only hotels and airports. Last year I ended my career where I started it, with the Giro d'Italia. To be applauded by those who have always supported me è was the most beautiful gift. I thank Rivolta, the Federation and Rcs who make us live a great dream".

" I became a mother ten years ago. Back then there were very few cycling moms, I think I was the first Italian. I had so much courage thanks to a great team at home that allowed me to reconcile everything. I feel proud to have made this choice, at 37 years old I would have come to the end of my career without anything concrete apart from medals".
