Kassius Robertson returns to Italy
Pallacanestro Reggiana announced that it has reached an agreement through the end of the 2022/2023 season with Canadian Kassius Robertson.
Born in Toronto, class of 1994, Robertson is a 191-centimeter guard who came out of Missouri College in 2018.
His European career began in Germany in Bayreuth, a formation with which he also played in the Basketball Champions League. Later, the landing in Italy with the Fortitudo Bologna jersey, ending the year with 14 points in 30′ average with 41% from long distance.
In the last two seasons Robertson, who is also a permanent member of the Canadian national team, played in Spain with Obradoiro: in 2021/2022 for him 14.5 points and 3.7 assists on average in the 34 games played in the ACB, while during this summer he was engaged in the Canadian CEBL with the Scarborough Shooting Stars, finishing with 14 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists on average and 46% from 3.
“The signing of Kassius Robertson goes to further strengthen our outside department, putting at Coach Menetti’s disposal an excellent ball handler who has various offensive solutions in his arsenal. Kassius is an athlete in the prime of his career, constantly growing, who has shown great enthusiasm and motivation in accepting this challenge. It will be important to take advantage of both his well-known scoring ability and his combo skills honed in the last two excellent seasons in the ACB,” the words of biancorosso sports director Barozzi.
“I’m really galvanized by the possibility of being able to come back to play in Italy, a country and a league where I had gotten along very well even though the season was interrupted early for Covid,” Robertson stressed. “I think Pallacanestro Reggiana is the ideal solution for me, all the more so after talking with coach Menetti I’m confident that we can do great things together. I can’t wait, as soon as I finish my commitments with the Canadian national team, to get to the city and meet my teammates.”
