Lazio, Maurizio Sarri’s resignation accepted: replacement already chosen
Lazio officiates Maurizio Sarri's farewell
The paths of Lazio and Maurizio Sarri are officially parting. After trying in vain to convince the Tuscan coach to retrace his steps, the biancoceleste club has decided to accept the resignation of the former Juventus and Chelsea coach, making his farewell known through a statement. In addition, President Claudio Lotito is said to have already made a decision regarding the former Napoli's replacement.
"S.S. Lazio announces that Maurizio Sarri has resigned as head coach of the first team. The Società thanks the coach for his achievements and work, wishing him the best human and professional fortunes. At the same time, the club announces that it has decided to entrust the technical guidance to Giovanni Martusciello until the end of the season" this is the statement issued by the capital club.
On the occasion of the punitive retreat ordered by the biancoceleste president Claudio Lotito after the four consecutive knockouts between the league and Champions League, Maurizio Sarri has reportedly decided to end his adventure with Lazio early after having had a long discussion with some of the senators of the roster.
