AC Milan, Europa League in Stefano Pioli’s sights: ‘We’re in it too’
The Rossoneri candidacy è clear.
Europa League in Milan’s sights, after their passage to the quarterfinals obtained at the expense of Slavia Prague. This is clearly explained by Stefano Pioli, who after the 3-1 Rossoneri made the name of the Diavolo among those teams that will try to win the trophy until the last available second. A trophy that, moreover, in its long and glorious history the Milanese club has never made its own.
"For us, this è a positive moment and we have passed two rounds that only on the surface could seem easy – Pioli stressed to the microphones of 'Sky Sport' -. Rennes and Slavia Prague actually were not easy opponents, but now there will be eight teams vying to win the Europa League. And among them there are certainly us".
Pioli è also said he is convinced that, in addition to his Milan, the other Italian teams have partly caught up with the big teams in the rest of Europe. "In general it seems to me to have diminished a bit, even if the European bigs can benefit from economic possibilities that are clearly different from ours. I was a bit surprised by the elimination of Inter, but I don't think we are too far away. As long as they continue to spend abroad, however, it will not be easy for us,” said the Rossoneri coach.
