Boris Becker enjoys the rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz
During an interview given to the microphones of "Sky Sport", Holger Rune's former coach Boris Becker, among other topics, dwelt on the rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, with the Spaniard having è won the last clash between the two in the semifinals in Indian Wells, breaking the South Tyrolean's streak of 19 consecutive wins and confirming his second position in the ATP Ranking.
"I think it is great to see two guys of 22 and 20 years old battling it out to become the number one world ranking. I think Alcaraz is finding his best condition. Sinner has had a great start to the season, winning the'Australian Open and Rotterdam and now it's Carlos's turn to raise the level" debuted Holger Rune's former coach.
"In tennis you never have to stop, you have to keep working and keep improving, becauseè when you win a couple of tournaments, others study your game and then you can lose if you don't continuously update your style of play. It's a normal thing in this sport" added Boris Becker.
At the Miami Masters 1000, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz could only face each other again in a hypothetical final, as the Spaniard è has been drawn in the upper part of the draw along with Hubert Hurkacz, Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune, while the South Tyrolean in the lower part with Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud and defending champion Daniil Medvedev.
