F1, Frederic Vasseur: “Everything went smoothly, encouraging free practice.”
Much satisfaction for a smooth Friday for the Red
.
Free practice in Melbourne, home of the Australian GP, smiled on Ferrari, which was the most brilliant single-seater in the second session with Leclerc’s best time and Sainz’s third fastest time. Vasseur remains with his feet on the ground: "One can never be completely satisfied but there's a good feeling concerning the pace of the car", his words to Sky Sport.
The Ferrari team principal added: "The pace today è was definitely good. For us è it was a Friday where everything è went smoothly while Red Bull had some problems but I don’t want to make comparisons because è in Melbourne, every day, you always start from scratch. We must, therefore, focus only on us".
Vasseur è however, definitely satisfied with the test of his two drivers: "Good answers from Sainz who è managed to do so many laps without pain, I think he can do better and better. Also good from Leclerc who è was very consistent on the lap. In short, encouraging performance". Appointment to qualifying to see if Ferrari è really able to fight for pole position and put pressure on Red Bull and, above all, Verstappen.
