Internazionali d’Italia women’s draw: there is an Italian derby already in the first round

The draws for the main draw tables of the Internazionali d'Italia were staged in Rome on Monday. As many as eleven Italian athletes have already been admitted, waiting for other representatives of the tricolor that could arrive from the qualifiers. The highest seed, among the athletes from the Bel Paese, è Jasmine Paolini, number 11 in the seeding, already admitted to the second round, where she will find; Mayar Sherif or Petra Martic.
As for the other Italians, the task is not easy for Lucia Bronzetti, who will have to deal with Sofia Kenin, while Elisabetta Cocciaretto will have to wait for the outcome of the qualifiers to know her opponent. Martina Trevisan, one of the eight tricolor wild cards, will face Yulia Putintseva, while Sara Errani will play against Amanda Anisimova.
The first round will also offer an Italian derby, that between Lucrezia Stefanini and Vittoria Paganetti. Also on the scoreboard are Giorgia Pedone and Federica Di Sarra, who will each face an athlete who makes it through the qualifiers, Nuria Brancaccio, who will take on Katerina Siniakova, and Lisa Pigato, who will face Shelby Rogers.
