Big party for Mattia Comotti at Pinetina
Comotti celebrates
The Giorgio Bordoni Memorial, the first event of the 2024 Italian Pro Tour, also included in the Alps Tour calendar, saw Mattia Comotti triumph. In the tournament held at La Pinetina Golf Club in Lombardy, Comotti finished with a score of 195 (66 62 67, -15), winning an intense all-Italian showdown against Enrico Di Nitto, who finished second with 196 (-14).
Benjamin Kedochim, from France, è placed third with 199 (-11). Alessandro Radig took an excellent fourth place with 200 (-10), making him the best amateur in the tournament. This victory represents the third consecutive success for Italy on the Alps Tour, followed by wins by Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli in Egypt at the New Giza Open and Gianmaria Rean Trinchero at the Tunisian Open.
Comotti, a 23-year-old from Cuneo, is celebrating his first professional victory. This è also the sixth time an Italian has won this competition, which reached its 10th edition this year.
The victory put a prize of 5,800 euros in Comotti’s pocket, part of a total prize pool of 40,000 euros. This success also pushed Comotti to sixth place in the Alps Tour's order of merit, still led by Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli, followed by Frenchmen Aymeric Laussot and Benjamin Kedochim.
The next event on the Italian Pro Tour is scheduled for Sept. 19-22 with the Italian Challenge Open, part of the Challenge Tour calendar, Europe's second circuit. The event will be held in Tuscany at the Argentario Golf Club, which will also host the Italian Open in 2025.
