Camilla Rosatello gives herself a result to remember
Camilla Rosatello’s Enterprise in Rabat
Italian tennis rejoices, on Monday, for the feat of Camilla Rosatello in the first round of the Rabat tournament: the Piedmontese tennis player, number 294 in the world rankings, in fact defeated Chinese Yuan Yue, number 36 in the world, 7-6(7), 1-6, 6-4, thus giving herself a day to remember and also access to the round of 16 of the tournament on clay in the capital of Morocco.
Rosatello è was good, in the first set, both to react to two situations that saw her under two games (3-1 and 5-3), and to cancel as many as ten set balls for her opponent, plus two others during the tie-break that allowed her to go ahead at the end of the first fraction.
In the second set, the Chinese player reacted brutally, conceding only one game to the Saluzzo-born athlete, but in the third and decisive set it was Rosatello herself who emerged, winning two games on her opponent’s serve and going on to close in the tenth game after nullifying two set balls for 5-5.
The Rabat tournament scoreboard had two other Italian tennis players engaged today: Elisabetta Cocciaretto (No. 52 WTA) defeated Moroccan Yasmine Kabbaj (No. 566) 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 45 minutes, while Nuria Brancaccio (No. 286) was less lucky, defeated by Chinese Wang Xiyu (No. 62) 7-6(5), 7-5.
