Marc Marquez enjoys his comeback and overtaking Pecco Bagnaia in the standings

Marc Marquez finished second in the Sprint Race of the Catalan Grand Prix at the end of a crazy comeback. The Spanish champion, in fact, è managed to get on the podium, starting only from 14th position: "Incredible. I did not expect the comeback in Le Mans, where there’was the pace, let alone today where it did not seem to have it".

"After turn 2 I would say that I did not fare badly – added the Gresini Racing team rider to the microphones of Sky Sport at the end of the Sprint -. Jokes aside the track was very different, a bit’ slippery but the pace was there, especially in the early laps. But even in the last laps the bike was very good".

A race characterized by several crashes including the one that è cost Pecco Bagnaia the victory on the last lap: "Many riders fell, but the situation was difficult on the track. Congratulations to Aleix, today and maybe tomorrow on this track will be his day".

Just by virtue of the fall of the world champion and the concomitant second place in the Sprint of Marc Marquez, now the Spaniard has overtaken Pecco in the overall standings, moving to second place, behind Jorge Martin. Bagnaia è even slipped to fourth position, behind his teammate Enea Bastianini.
