After Charles Leclerc’s triumph and Carlos Sainz’s third place in the Monaco GP, Ferrari will try to confirm itself at the top again in the next round in Montreal on June 9, 2024. Ahead of the Canadian Gp, Maranello team principal Frederic Vasseur tried to analyze what will be next F1 weekend.
"In Canada there's almost the opposite of Monaco in terms of speed and downforce, but there are also the characteristics of the curbs, many low-speed corners, chicanes and so on. Some of the corners are similar to those in Monte Carlo. Overall, I expect a very close race to the end" began the team principal to the microphones of "Motorsport".
"I am focused only on Ferrari. The goal è to do a good job, improve the car and be competitive with both drivers. I am sure we will be able to fight with everyone. McLaren è one of the main rivals: in Monaco they finished second and fourth, while in Imola they were clearly stronger than us. I think they will be in the fight for the Constructors’ World Championship, as well as us and Red Bull" added the'former Alfa Romeo manager.
"If you look at the last two or three races, I think Max made more mistakes at Imola. If you stay in your comfort zone for strategy, for everything, you don’t make mistakes. I am convinced, però that Red Bull will come back strong, but it wonà t have an easy life as in the previous season" commented Frederic Vasseur.
