Sky announces big comeback for Wimbledon
It's less and less until Wimbledon, scheduled from 'July 1'to 14. The 137th edition of the 'Championships' will be live exclusively on Sky and streamed on NOW. In Sky’s House of Sports, coverage has never been so rich: there will be 750 hours of live coverage between matches and analysis and commentary studies. Two weeks of full tennis immersion with singles and doubles challenges from the men’s and women’s draw.
Two the reference channels: Sky Sport Tennis where all Centre Court matches will be broadcast, and Sky Sport Arena, with the other most interesting challenges. In addition, 6 dedicated channels, renamed for the’occasion Sky Sport Wimbledon 1-6 (from 252 to 257), for all other courts.
On commentary a team of great champions, starting with Boris Becker, three-time Wimbledon winner, along with Ivan Ljubicic, Paolo Bertolucci, Flavia Pennetta and the other big names of tennis on Sky.
Big names in world tennis will narrate the 14 days of matches on Sky: starting with the great return of Boris Becker, three-time champion at Wimbledon (in 1985, 1986 and 1989), who will commentate on the decisive stages of the tournament. Ivan Ljubicic, already world No. 3 and coach of champions such as Roger Federer, will be in London to analyze the strokes and strategies of the tennis players on the court; Paolo Bertolucci, the “golden arm” of the 1976 Davis Cup-winning Italy, will be at the microphone to report on the most important challenges in the telecast, while Flavia Pennetta, champion at the 2015 US Open and four-time Fed Cup triumphant with the Italian national team, will make the technical point in the first week of the tournament with a focus, in particular, on the Italians’ path.
Sky’s tennis team will be rounded out by Stefano Pescosolido, Raffaella Reggi, Laura Golarsa, Laura Garrone, Gianluca Pozzi, Niccolò, Cotto, Marco Crugnola and Andrea Arnaboldi. On commentary will take turns Elena Pero, Luca Boschetto, Federico Ferrero, Pietro Nicolodi, Alessandro Lupi, Andrea Paventi, Niccolò Ramella and Gaia Brunelli. In London there will be two correspondents: Angelo Mangiante and Stefano Meloccaro, ready to catch every detail before, during and after the matches.
