Ducati: Marc Marquez penalized does not seek alibi
Ducati, Marc Marquez penalized
The finishing order of the Dutch Grand Prix has changed. Marc Marquez, who had crossed the finish line in fourth place, è was in fact penalized for violating the rule regarding tire pressure and è therefore relegated to tenth position, ahead of Brad Binder. Fourth thus becomes; Fabio Di Giannantonio.
An irregular front tire pressure è cost the Spanish rider a 16-second penalty, who in addition to losing six positions in the GP standings at Assen, also loses seven points in the overall standings, dropping to 142, at -58 from leader Jorge Martin.
"Unfortunately, although for a minimum figure, we are out of the rules on tire pressure and we accept the penalty – admitted Marquez to the official channels of the Gresini team – A pity to leave here with very few points, I could have closed with two fourth places and instead…".
"The touch with Bastianini affected but we are not looking for excuses, I was playing well with the tire pressure up to that point. Now we close this weekend and think about Germany" concluded the'eight-time world champion.
