As communicated by the Italian Federation "following the latest investigations carried out, the CONI Institute of Sports Medicine has communicated the suspension from competitive activity of men’s senior national team player Simone Anzani due to the need for a re-evaluation of the clinical functional situation".

The Azzurri center, who left the training camp, therefore, will not be able to take part in the Olympic Games and will undergo further diagnostic checks to ensure participation in the 2024-2025 competitive season.
